UNIQUE CREATIVE YOUTH WORKSHOP AT DUKHAN
Integrated Facilities Department of Qatar Petroleum in association with Dukhan Toastmasters successfully conducted a “Creative Youth Workshop” for children aged 10 to 17 yrs at Dukhan Township where 50 boys and girls from 8 nationalities participated. The workshop commenced on 13th July and concluded on 27th July with a Grand Finale. The grand finale was held on 27th July at Al Dastour hall in Dukhan Recreation Club. Mr. Mohammed Al Baker, Head of Community & Business Relations QP Dukhan was the Chief Guest for the event. Mr. Patrick Choueiri, Business Relations Coordinator, Mr. Abdulla Jaber, Catering Coordinator, Mrs. Eiman Yousef , Business Relations Officer QP Dukhan, Toastmasters Assistant Division E Governor Marketing (ADGM) TM Saquib Raza Khan & Area-28 Governor Eswaran Natarajan & Area-18 Governor Sameer Hassan Moosa were the Guests of honor. President Dukhan Toastmasters Nasimudheen A. Hameed opened the meeting and welcomed the audience & Guests.
A distinctive youth leadership program with creativity as its theme was coordinated by TM Ravi Ramamoorthy where participant learned effective communication & leadership through 4 interactive sessions. Dukhan Toastmasters Mustafa Sange, Arul Fernadez , Selvaraju, Pareeduddin and Saluaddin were the Assistant Coordinators for the Youth leadership Program. Distrcit-20 Lieutenant Governor Marketing TM Vicky Mustafa who is a renowned professional Trainer for many esteemed organizations presented an educational Module on “Effective Communication & Organize your speech”. Other Module presenters were TM Virendra Nath, Senior consultant LIC International who presented “How to Persuade”. DTM Ajith Limaye, Chief Executive Officer of Larson &Toubro Qatar (Building Infrastructure & electrical Section) who presented “Ingredients of a Good Speech”. Youth Leadership Program also provided children with various other education modules to develop skills like introducing a person, debate, impromptu speaking, etc.
An Art & Craft Session where all participants learned creative designing like Folder & Cards designing, Glass Painting & Flower making with beads were facilitated by lady coordinates Miss Payal Ashique, Celine Biju & Sumeera Sameer respectively.
Creativity loomed during a dedicated sports day, where apart from routine sports like football & basket ball, other innovative sports items like reverse throw ball and bite the chocolate engulfed children in total fun. Sport events were coordinated by Mr Alexander Amo and Preejith along with the Toastmasters
Enjoyment was at its pinnacle when children were taken to Aqua Theme Park in Doha. Children explored all rides like lazy river, wave pool, rain forest, splash pads, water slides etc. It was a tough-to-depart feeling for all and coordinators had a tough time calling back children from those water games.
Grand finale could be termed as “fun-unlimited”, when in front of dignitaries from QP management, Parents, Toastmasters and invited guests, the children performed with all sincerity what they learned during their YLP sessions. Sayma and Aaron were Masters of Ceremony, Narasimhan Ravi was the debate moderator on the topic “Which is better books or TV”. An interesting Table Topic session was conducted by Ali Raza and Kyle Eunice.
Such a unique workshop could be termed as a pioneer attempt by Toastmasters, which was a colourful blend of fun and education in parallel.
